Lets Dish Fundraiser -- 6 June

Friends,

Greetings again from your friendly neighborhood Habitat for Humanity fundraiser! Good news -- this time I’m not really asking for money. I’m asking you to eat! Yep, that’s right. I want you to eat a wonderfully relaxing, scrumptiously delicious, hot, home-cooked meal, but without the planning, shopping, chopping/dicing, clean-up and time required to do so. To sweeten the deal even more, you’ll enjoy that meal knowing that its preparation and consumption are all helping to provide a safe, healthy and legally protected shelter for a family in need in Africa (more information on the dire need in Africa is included below).

So does great food and helping a great cause all at the same time sound too good to be true? It’s not! Here’s how:

Let’s Dish! I’d like to invite you, your spouse, or any friends you have whom may be interested to a private session I’m holding at Let’s Dish in Alexandria. 10% of all proceeds from the afternoon will be donated to Habitat for Humanity – Mozambique Team.

What's Let's Dish!?
Let's Dish! is an innovative meal preparation store where you can make 4, 8 or 12 ready-to-cook meals, designed to serve six, for your family in just two hours. You simply go online to register and choose your menu. Then, when you come to the store, you'll find the ingredients for your meals sliced, diced and ready to go - you just assemble your dishes, spend time with friends, and enjoy refreshments along the way. At the conclusion of the two-hour dish session, each customer has prepared a month’s worth of dishes that can be brought home and eaten fresh or can be stored in the freezer and cooked at a later date. Visit www.letsdish.com to learn more.

What does it Cost?
You can prepare a total of 4 dishes for $100.00 or 8 dishes for $189.00 or 12 dishes for $252.00. And, remember EACH dish SERVES SIX!! If more than 12 people register for the party before Saturday, June 06, 2009 at 1:30 p.m., each attendee will get a bonus dish - Frozen Lemonade Pie - FREE.

R.S.V.P. Today
If you can attend, visit the Sign up page to register now. To register, choose "R.S.V.P. to a Private Party" on the signup page, then select "Habitat for Humanity Party," enter your private party password when prompted, and then follow the directions to select your meals and pay.

Our private party password is: africa

(Don't forget - register by Saturday, June 06, 2009 at 1:30 p.m. to help the group get the bonus dish.)

If in the unfortunate event you can’t make it on the above date, but would still like to dish, you can schedule an individual session using the attached flier. 10% of all proceeds will still go to the work we’ll be doing in with Habitat in Mozambique. Also, this is an open invite so please feel free to forward to anyone and everyone! J

Thank you! Hope to see you there on the 6th!!! Hugs to everyone!

How to Donate

WOW! Thank you so much to all those who have already reached out with such love and support. You will be amazed at what your contributions do for these children!

Since I know it’s hard at times to keep track of emails, I’m posting the donation procedures here so they are available any time you’re ready! ;-)

Personal Check to Habitat: Please make checks out to Habitat for Humanity International, put my name, my ID# 9317-3774, & "Mozambique GV 10116" in the “memo” portion at the bottom, and mail it to Global Village at Habitat for Humanity International, 121 Habitat Street, Americus, GA 31709-3498. Make sure your current address is on the check because that is where your tax-deductible receipt will be sent.

Phone: You can call the Habitat-Global Village office at 1-800-HABITAT, extension 7530 to give them your credit card information. Make sure you give them the trip event number (GV 10116), my name and ID# 9317-3774.

Online: Go to https://www.habitat.org/cd/gv/participant/participant.aspx?pid=93173774. Click on the words to the right, "make a donation” and it will walk you through the process. If you do not receive your tax-deductible receipt in the mail within a few days, let me know.

Very Special Note: Unfortunately due to problems Habitat has had in the past, participants are no longer able to use money donated through the Habitat system for airfare costs ($1700 of my $6000 goal). If you would be interested in putting your generous gift towards my airfare costs you can do so by donating through PayPal to halfhilld@yahoo.com or if you prefer to send your donation in cash or check, send a me a note and I’ll send you my mailing address. While I will not be able to provide you with a tax-deductible receipt if you donate through this method, I will surely send you all the love and gratitude one 5’6 girl can muster! ;-)

Again, thank you … from the bottom of my heart! I’m truly blessed to have you all as a part of my life. Thank you again!
